And every designer is a creator and his work is like a painter or a writer. You start to look at a portfolio and immerse yourself in this world, and if you like it, if you feel that it resonates, that it is something of your own, great! You're on the right track. Every designer has their own signature and it's important that you feel that signature and try it on. Focus not on the best work in the portfolio, but on the worst, not the fact that you will make the design as the strongest work, but surely should give a result not worse than the weakest job. See if there is any work in your style, if there is - great, if not, then discuss whether the designer is willing to work in that style. I love the modern style and modern classics, I have experience in the loft style, and I focus primarily on you and what you like. Style is not about the accepted rules, it's about how you are and how you want to feel. Communication
Talk to the designer, the one who will work with you, because 90% of design success is communication. If you like the designer as a person, and you feel that it is easy to communicate with him or her, that you are listened to, and that the designer feels you, then it will be easy enough to work. Among my clients there are those with whom we are friends, and there are those who are comfortable to work strictly within the framework of business communication, the main thing is the result which they came to and which they are satisfied with.
Result and budget
The designer will ask you what results you want to achieve, what you expect from the designer and what your budget is. The cost of the design project is roughly 5-10% of the total budget, including the cost of builders, rough and finish materials and furniture. The budget is very much related to the style and the result you want to get. For example you like complex rounded shapes, multilevel ceilings, cornices on the ceiling, moldings on the walls, non-standard wall coverings, porcelain stoneware - these are solutions for business and premium class and it costs money, but the result will not be the average hospital temperature. Think about what kind of support you need. Do you want everything turnkey, or do you want to do something yourself? Ask the designer what experience he has with projects, ask for photos, ask what difficulties he encountered and how these difficulties were solved. An experienced designer has a history of author's supervision, and he will be able to solve your problems effectively. For example, I had the experience that the tiles were literally missing a few pieces, and the supplier offered to wait 3 months and bring these tiles from Italy. Thanks to my knowledge of the market this tile was in the apartment in a week. If the experience of the designer is small, then every issue will be new to him and will be solved for a long time.
